Bring entry-level data analysts to your organization.

Participants will begin this 5-week project-based experience after completing an 8-week upskilling part-time course in data analytics fundamentals. Participants will have the foundational skills to organize and analyze data using Google sheets, make charts and visualizations with spreadsheets, write database queries with SQL, create dashboards with Tableau, and tell compelling stories using data.

Participants will attend a virtual orientation with AHF and Riipen on November 2nd, 2022 at 6-7:00pm ET and will work on projects between Nov 14th - Dec 16th, 2022.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Project deliverables will depend on the scope of the project and are based on a 5 week timeframe at 20 hours (total) per individual working in small teams. See examples of deliverables below.

Some final project deliverables might include:

  1. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations.
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendation.
  3. Data visualizations including charts, graphs, and other infographics.
  4. A blog post or narrative case study , highlighting the story of the dataset.
  5. Data informed, strategic recommendations for next steps.

Project Examples

Participants can work on a project based on your organization's goals within a 5-week scope and 20-hours per individual, working in small teams.

Project tasks that participants can complete include, but are not limited to:

1. Organize and parse data

  • Organize and clean data using Sheets and SQL
  • Analyze and interpret data

2. Gain meaningful insight from data

  • Ask and answer questions using analyzed data
  • Provide reporting and informed strategic recommendations based on the dataset

3. Use tools to create compelling visualizations

  • Use Sheets to create charts, graphs, etc.
  • Use Tableau to create a comprehensive dashboard
  • Create infographics to supplement reporting

4. Tell a story with your data

  • Design, develop, and public an analysis dashboard with reporting
  • Create a blog post to narrate findings
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Headquartered, operates from, and/or offers services in Canada.

Provide a dedicated point of contact to: 1) attend project orientation meetings, 2) attend a pre-selection meeting with Accelerate Her Future via Zoom to assess project scope and fit, and 3) meet with participant teams to provide mentorship and feedback on deliverables.

Please provide a list of software and tools that you expect the participant team to use for your project.

Attend Accelerate Her Future’s project kick-off orientation meeting the week of Oct 31st with participant teams.
