Overview
Learner goals and capabilities

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from the North Seattle College to be your student-consultants, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one main project over the course of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Students in this course work in teams to build a mobile app for an external client. Students can prototype apps or update existing application features. Teams will use a recognized development strategy, performing design reviews and quality assurance checks at intervals.

Students will be creating Apps for Android and React-Native but not iPhone.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the students and the organization.

Some final project deliverables might include:

  1. Peer-reviewed code committed to employer's codebase repository
  2. Pre-release application builds for review on mobile devices
  3. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
Project Examples

Students in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to execute on mobile app development tasks.

Project activities that students can complete may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work in a small group iterative environment to build mobile applications
  • Perform quality assurance checks on mobile applications built by others
  • Deploy and promote a viable mobile application
