PROJECT DESCRIPTION/DESCRIPTION DU PROJET:

Early-stage tech company focused on applying the latest advances in AI and Computer vision to decreasing GHG emissions from traffic in our cities, needs entrepreneurial minds to help us with researching, segmenting, ranking, and penetrating our target marker – North American municipalities.

See the linked video to understand how our technology works

KEY PROJECT ACTIVITIES/TÂCHES ASSOCIÉES AU PROJET:

  • Computer-based research; lots of data gathering and analyzing
  • Condensing the findings in a clear and actionable forms
  • Writing recommendations on why/how/whom to approach, in what order, and why

IDEAL ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES/RÔLES/RESPONSABILITÉS:*

  • Ideally we are seeking a group of two open-minded students who could work both together as a team but also autonomously.
  • If these students could go a step further and conduct customer interviews, it would be a big plus

FINAL PROJECT DELIVERABLES/LIVRABLES DU PROJET:

  • List of municipalities and cities, ranked by the strength of their Climate Change agenda, with names and contact details of municipal officers we could approach for pilot opportunities or customer discovery calls.
  • Recommendations on approaching these or other contacts and any other crazy ideas that might help us penetrate this conservative market and we should explore.

Breeze Traffic uses the latest advances in AI to improve the operations of traffic lights and make them instantly adaptable to the changing traffic conditions. A combination of off-the-shelf hardware and proprietary software installed at the intersection (“on edge”) uses our AI algorithms to recognize and analyze all road users, their intentions and individual emission levels to optimize the traffic flows and decrease CO2 emissions by dynamically changing the traffic signals.
While this product is under development (and has more considerable customer adoption barriers, including legal liability-type consideration of active switching of traffic lights), we developed a more straightforward product that has confirmed demand - an AI-powered traffic monitoring & counting system that uses existing traffic cameras at intersections and continuously counts various road users in real-time. This system also assesses the actual levels of GHG emissions from different vehicles at the intersections.
