Our company is a new concept Health and Wellness Clinic. We have another Riipen group of full stack developers currently working on our website, and looking for a UI/UX student to joint the team to lead the design aspect of the website. We are looking to design a website and an app, along with a patient login portal that is compatible with the app. The portal will also be used for patient-doctor communication. We hope to work with students to develop the website and the app that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

• Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a native mobile application which can be used on both iOS and Android
• Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this
• Researching technologies being used for chat applications.
• Selecting the best technologies for creating a real-time application.
• Researching how to comply with HIPAA requirements for patient privacy and confidenciality
• Producing a wireframe or mock-up of the resulting system’s user interface.
• Creating a product roadmap for the system and an implementation plan detailing possible interactions with the system.

Bonus steps in the process would also include:

• Involvement in developing the app portion with the developers
• Developing an artificial intelligence chatbot.

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

• How to integrate website and app in a cohesive manner
• Knowledge of HIPAA Compliance
• Understanding of technologies currently used for chat applications
• The reasoning behind chosen technologies
• Documentation of models and attributes used
• Plans and recommendations for implementation

Bonus steps would include:

• App Development
• Developing an automated chatbot

Final deliverable should include

• A great user friendly website and app!
• A final report.
• A walk-through presentation of the website and app
• Source code for the system, preferably in a source control system such as Git.

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

• Our current products and services
• Our current platform and understanding of chat function development
• Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter.

Learners are paid a $1500 CAD stipend on completion of the project by Riipen
