Details

Our organization is looking to solidify its Occupational Health & Safety program. The goal of this project is to expand and formalize H&S programming, contributing to the development a safety culture.

Deliverables

The goals of the project could include achieving one or more of the following:

  • Assess the organization's functions and identify Occupational Health & Safety legal compliance requirements (eg. WSIB, Internal Responsibility System, H&S Representative/Committee)
  • Conduct a hazard analysis/risk assessment of employee's roles and work conditions and recommend controls to mitigate risks
  • Design a Occupational Health & Safety program (eg. Workplace Violence, Driving Safety) and provide policy and training program/material
  • Create an Emergency Preparedness and Management Plan
  • Develop Incident and Accident Investigation framework and tools
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with the employer for mentorship and supervision throughout the project by phone, email or virtual meetings. A designated employer representative will be assigned to the project.

Our organization partners to provide onsite third-party Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), and Environmental Services (EVS), audits of practices and processes with objective, qualitative and quantitative feedback that are used to recognize results and develop quality improvement action plans. Our in-person infection control and environmental services education and training sessions, provided to IPAC Leads, frontline employees, clinicians, and leadership teams, develops fundamental and consistent knowledge and experience. We also partner to introduce IPAC and EVS manuals, and IPAC and EVS program development and implementation.
