Deliverables

What is this project about?

This project represents the initial phase of the Ami Tea & Sub 2023-2028 Business Development Roadmap workplan stream, designed to compare and contrast Ami Tea’s existing business practices with those of similar competitors and chains. The primary objectives of this initiative include:

  1. Business Canvas Model*: to help Ami Tea & Sub document existing operational characteristics, including financial management, internal operations, employee management, etc. and brainstorm new business models (franchising operations).
  2. Marketing Research Presentation*: In-depth analysis based on primary and secondary data. This deliverable complements interactions between the learners and business while having the team reinforce primary evidence with market-based research & statistics.
  3. Final Pitch Presentation*: To be presented by the group to the class.
  4. Business Plan: The only deliverable that the team will need to submit to the business towards the completion of the project on April 5th.

*Note: While this is a deliverable managed by the course, Ami Tea & Sub Business Development Lead will be willing to assist learners in completing the requirements for this deliverable to the best extent possible. This includes discussion with the team on certain project milestones that complement the course requirements and co-developing frameworks that assist the learners in completing these requirements.

What areas will be covered?

Business plans come in many shapes and sizes. Ami Tea & Sub is happy to use whatever template is given to the learners by the Faculty. Teams are welcomed to explore ideas listed by this Canadian government's website on entrepreneurship:

https://sbs-spe.feddevontario.canada.ca/en/sample-business-plans-and-templates

A business plan generally considers the following items:

  1. Executive Summary
  2. Business Overview
  3. Sales and Marketing
  4. Operating Plan
  5. People
  6. Action Plan

The business has already performed (some) analysis on certain sections of the plan, such as annual initiatives, existing social media posting schedule and calendar planning, competitive analysis, etc. As such, it is recommended that the team collaborates closely with the business to furnish areas that need more in-depth analysis (i.e., financial management, supplier identification, technological integration, etc.) in exchange for materials that will (tremendously) help reduce the students' initial research time.

What outcome should the participants anticipate?

Tasking: The bottom line of this project is to prepare a Business Plan per requirements of ENTR 4433. Participants will build on an existing Competitive Analysis report that has already been prepared by a previous Riipen team and other important information prepared by the business to make strategic recommendations for Ami Tea & Sub's management.

Other components within the report should include S.W.O.T. Analysis and Strategy mapping where applicable.

While There is no formal citation requirements for this project from the business' side, learners should take precaution in complying with Mount Royal University's Policies on Academic Conduct

β˜• Ami Tea & Sub Inglewood is your one-stop shop for authentic Vietnamese street food and Taiwanese boba milk tea. We dedicate our hearts to blending bold flavors and intimate friendships together, one cup of tea at a time. Our story began in 2018 when we first started as a small family-owned Taiwanese milk-tea and Vietnamese bΓ‘nh mΓ¬ vendor at the heart of Calgary’s vibrant Chinatown. For the first time in our lives, we realize just how powerful familiar tastes were; of how a slight tinge of coriander leaf, concealed amidst the piquant mix of marinated satay beef could mean a world of differences to a cultural food enthusiast.

We began our digital transformation almost a year ago and have made impressive strides (You can check us out at @amiteacanada). We're looking for passionate and talented students who can help us create fun videos that promote our stores in exchange for free bubble tea and delicious tasting Vietnamese subs!
