Students at Accelerate Her Future will be provided with an opportunity to help us improve our business development process. This engagement will give the intern an opportunity to work with a dynamic team within a collaborative environment.


We are a young startup and as a career accelerator for Indigenous, Black and racialized women we care deeply about mentorship. We will help our students succeed as much as we want them to help us enhance our visual identity. We are looking for a student who has creative vision, tenacity, drive, and sees possibilities in all things and who thrives at working independently and within a team environment.

This will involve several different steps for the students, including:

  • Evaluating our current business development process and help us create a clear workflow.
  • Researching industry business development processes and lead generation strategies.
  • Create recommendations that will improve our leads and conversion rate.
  • Generate prospect list based on criteria provided.
  • Creating a business development process, workflow, and list of required resources and marketing collateral/email scripts.


Who are we looking for? Ideally you have lived experience and ‘insider knowledge’ of the communities we serve at the core of our mission. You are inspired by our mission and like working within a collaborative environment. You value patience, respect, generosity, and good humour in your working relationships. Having an emerging understanding of intersectionality and gender and racial equity principles will be an asset.

Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Evaluated our current business development process.
  • Researched suitable business development and lead generation processes.
  • Created recommendations on how to improve our business development process.
  • Generated list of prospects.
  • Created business development process, workflow, and recommended marketing resources and email scripts.

Final deliverables should include

  • A business development process document with workflow and recommended resources and email scripts.
  • A report with all research, recommended solutions and an implementation plan.
  • A 20-minute presentation on the report and handbook.
Mentorship

Students will be working directly with AHF's Founder and are required to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement. They will participate in weekly 30-minute project mentorship calls where all questions will be answered.
