Community Engaged Political Science Projects

Students are ready to support virtually, research, analyze, and formulate community change activities and policies in this course. We are looking for projects where students can apply in practice the concepts and theories learned in the classroom and contribute to your organization's mandate in the process.
Biostatistics (Biology/Statistics)

In this course, students from the University of Rochester will use statistical concepts and knowledge of the primary literature in the biological sciences to work on your organization's project. The topics covered in the course will include descriptive statistics and graphics , estimation , elementary probability theory , Bayes’ theorem , statistical distributions , hypothesis testing , the goodness of fit tests, experimental design, correlation, regressions, and variance analysis and maximum likelihood.
Virtual Internships with University of Rochester Students
VIUR
This summer course is seeking proposals for several 6-8-week projects with several companies, startups, nonprofits, etc. The organizations need only present their real-world business problems and groups of 3-5 students will select the projects to work on for the term. Engagement between students and sponsors is customizable, with a one-hour per week recommendation to ensure project progress. All students work virtually so sponsor/company locations are flexible!
Data Science Capstone Projects

The Goergen Institute for Data Science invites organizations to sponsor capstone projects. There is no sponsorship fee or funding requirement to sponsor projects. Our students are ready to help you solve challenging business problems using high-level, data analytics. Benefits to sponsors include: Obtaining early feasibility results on new initiatives; assisting with exploratory projects Networking with highly-trained students with internship/employment potential Contributing to the educational mission of the University of Rochester The data science curriculum at the University of Rochester prepares students to derive insight from vast quantities of structured and unstructured data, in a variety of disciplines. At the core of the curriculum is the capstone course for undergraduate and graduate students. These semester-long courses emphasize a team-based learning experience where students conduct real-world analytics projects using data provided by sponsoring organizations.
