DevOps Developer

Digital Document Accessibility Remediation Project
The main goal for the project is to enhance digital accessibility for individuals with disabilities by remediating existing digital documents to meet and exceed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and ensure they are accessible to all users. This initiative will involve assessing a range of company documents, identifying accessibility barriers, and implementing necessary modifications to achieve compliance. This will involve several different steps for the students including: - Evaluating a selected set of digital documents to identify current accessibility shortcomings. - Using automated tools and manual testing to assess compliance with WCAG standards. - Applying appropriate remediation techniques to address identified accessibility issues in documents, such as adding alt text for images, ensuring proper heading structures, and enhancing color contrast. - Modifying documents to include accessible features that support screen readers and other assistive technologies. - Performing a series of validation tests to ensure all modifications meet the required accessibility standards. - Creating a set of best practices and guidelines based on the remediation process that can be used for future document creation and modification within the company. - Training relevant staff on these guidelines to sustain document accessibility standards going forward.

We hope to update and revamp our existing website to attract more customers. We would like to work with students to develop our website that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users and is accessible. This can be achieved through common site building with Webflow. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Researching different site-building tools and their associated advantages, disadvantages. Conducting a needs analysis to determine which platform is most suitable. Building a website, with our assistance in providing the content. Ensuring the website is accessible Providing training on updating and maintaining the website. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Testing prototypes with customers and refining ideas with feedback.

Social Justice Assessment
We are looking for a Social Justice Assessor who will work with our team to advance equity and justice within our organization. The intern will have the opportunity to assess our company which covers our website, products, and services, as well as work on initiatives to create positive change for Magnify Access. Our intention is to ensure our company stands against the following social justice issues: Racism and discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and other identity factors Income inequality and lack of access to economic opportunity Inadequate access to education, healthcare, and other necessities The disproportionate impact of environmental harm on marginalized communities Gender inequality and discrimination against women and non-binary individuals Discrimination and mistreatment of people with disabilities. The end result of your internship would be to produce clear guidelines/direction on how to ensure our company has addressed issues related to social justice internally and externally, captured in a document the company can use to remediate these issues.

Magnify Access is looking for Full Stack Software Developers to join our team, supporting us with our goal of building accessible and inclusive experiences for our customers. Our current project involves developing a solution to support the accommodation needs of people with disabilities in the workplace. Our Full Stack Software Developers will be involved in the design, development, testing, and deployment of our application. With accessibility at the core of our business model, we strive for our applications to reflect an inclusive experience for all users. We will co-create, maintain, audit and improve the system to meet accessibility and functionality needs. This role also covers documenting code to ensure clarity exists for subsequent developers. When required the Developer will make recommendations for future developments and expansion of the application. This role will require the Developer to communicate effectively and translate needs into system developments. This internship should result in the development of code elements that can be used on our application to improve its functionality.
