The main goal for this project is to conduct a research study on companies in Alberta's growing tech sector, to determine how many boards have gender equity, with supplemental data on women holding influential roles in the tech sector such as CTO or CIO.


  • Research and compile a list of all tech companies in Alberta.
  • Gather data on the gender composition of boards in these technology companies.
  • Analyze the data to determine the percentage of women in influential roles in the technology sector in Alberta.
  • Work with Toast's partner organization to co-create a report summarizing the findings.


Deliverables

The deliverables for the project include:


  • A comprehensive list of tech companies in Alberta.
  • Data on the gender composition of technology teams within these companies.
  • An analysis of the percentage of women in technology roles.
  • A report summarizing the findings and providing recommendations for increasing gender diversity in tech teams.

Student will have access to:
