Book Publication: Phase 1 (Medical/Health) FULL

Positions available: up to 200 total students, working in groups of 12 We would like students to write and publish books. For phase 1 of this initiative, students will focus on medical health topics. To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will: work with team pod of students to help write two books, one book each week write 2200 to 4000 words each week and edit other team (pod) members work on collective document upload documents for publication as books onto research sites keep with schedule and work as book writing team This project will be ongoing over 8 weeks, with different books being produced in each two-week segment. There will be 4 project postings on Riipen that students can apply for. Each phase will run for two weeks.

Virtual: Blogging Internship

We would like to hire 2 students to help us with creating content that is aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. WHAT IS FAST AND FEMALE Fast and Female is a Canadian charity on a mission to keep self-identified girls aged 8-14 healthy and active in sports and physical activities. Founded in 2005 by Olympic gold medalist Chandra Crawford, Fast and Female believes in the power of positive sport experiences and role models to give girls leadership, teamwork, and resiliency skills. In our endeavour to foster lasting involvement in sports and other movement-based activities, we host national and local events and programs in collaboration with community partners and like-minded individuals. Fast and Female provides opportunities for powerful connection with REAL (Relatable, Empowered, Active Leaders) Role Models from within the girls’ communities. To accomplish this, we expect the students will: Virtually interview our role models, supporters and event participants to create blog posts about their stories and experiences (Via Zoom, Email, Phone) Create weekly blog posts highlighting our events, supporters, participants, role models, and other fun aspects of our organization  (WordPress) Optimize our blog posts with SEO best practices (keyword research, keyword content groups, H1s, alt text etc) to help in getting our content found via search engines BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH FAST AND FEMALE Working with Fast and Female is a great opportunity to not only gain fundamental digital marketing and social media skills but also the chance to join forces with a team of women on a mission for social change and empowerment for self-identified girls. Though our core team is small, it is surely mighty, having garnered over 700 REAL (Relatable, Empowered, Active Leaders) Role models in our network, over 10,000 Instagram followers, over 10,000 Facebook fans, and over 13,000 email subscribers. You’ll have a chance to build new skills, make mistakes, try new things and have fun, with a team that encourages creativity and individuality. The goal of the project is to develop student's writing and publication skills. Students will be expected to write 4 articles for us. These can be blogs, newspaper, or peer-reviewed articles. We have places to publish the articles for free on peer-reviewed publications.

We would like students to help us with creating bog content that is aligned with our brand that is SEO focused. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. Ultimately, you will be working on blog content creation for our organization, including doing research, crafting customized content and ensuring we are able to have high SEO throughout our site.

Blog Post Creation

We would like a student to help us with creating blog posts that are aligned with our vision, mission, and sector. We will ensure the student has a clear understanding of what these elements are for our organization. You will be writing blogs for our organization on a variety of topics that we will discuss and approve beforehand. Some examples of previous topics include: "Top 10 parks to visit in Ottawa, Canada", a blog series on various inspiring women, recipes, and more. We encourage students to be creative! Student will be expected to include SEO techniques in the blog posts they create. Students will also be required to find copyright/royalty free photos to add to blog posts.

Newsletter & Blog Publishing

We are looking for students to help develop and distribute newsletters/blog posts that support our Desserts App's mission. This project will include: Creating a weekly newsletter/blog post with helpful information so readers feel inspired Creating and soliciting materials to be published.
